[ A MESSAGE FROM THE RABBIT BEHIND THE SCENES : TWENTY-FOURTY DAY OF DECEMBER ]
Tomorrow is Christmas... and you know what that means, right?! A NEW DOCTOR WHO CHRISTMAS SPECIAL! Woot woot!
I just added not one, but THREE new ELEPHANT MICAH releases, plus some VOLLMARian goodness and a gorgeous LTD edition LP by SVARTE GREINER... all in the CATALOGUE.
Just got a message from Bellwether that the CAETHUA CDs will be done in a few days! That is a 300 copy re-press of last year's CDR, but on CD this time! I may also be mixing a live CAETHUA LP for some Australian label over the next few months... waiting on the tapes for that one to get cracking. Full band set by CAETHUA AND THE CRYSTAL SHIP (incl. yours truly on indian flute).
Also in Bluesanct's near future are the three releases listed below... got the names for both the BODY OF JOHN THE BAPTIST and ISAAC EDWARDS releases... and totally revamped the TWELVE-FOOT WIZE comp... just waiting on two stragglers and we'll get that off to be pressed.
In DREKKA news, I've got a new cassette coming out next month on the new Bloomington label, EL TULE... run by DYLAN ETTINGER... it'll be a collage of recordings I made in Nepal in Oct 1999, treated with all that DREKKA hazy goodness.
I also have a full-length finished called 'ANCESTRAL CAVE SEQUENCE'... it is in need of a loving home... anyone interested? Let me know if you want to talk about it, and I can get you a copy to entice you.
Besides that, all winter will be focused on archiving the first 12 years of DREKKA... I want to get every recording to date in one place, so I can evaluate it and start getting ready to re-issue most of it. Then, come spring, DREKKA will go on a rare US tour! Out east with DYLAN ETTINGER and THE RUDE DUDES (of which I am one)... should be fun.
I have been updating the DREKKA site more often lately, so if you want to keep up on the archiving and the tour sitch, check out the news page over there once in a while.

A month and yet another update! WOW, are we on a roll or what?!
I just sent out my yearly (or nearly yearly) BLUESANCT NEWSLETTER, and it feels good to be working on stuff and getting nice emails of encouragement from people. Thank you to everyone who says hi or orders something... it really makes all the difference!
SO, the big news right now is that our Belgian counterpart, MORC RECORDS (straight out of Ghent) has not one but THREE amazing new vinyl releases this month! We've got them for you in the catalogue right now, but grab them quick, cuz they are all VERY limited and VERY good! May be a oneshot chance to get them.
In order, they are ANNELIES MONSERE - somewhere someone 7" (MORC49, ltd to 170 copies), KARINA ESP/CIRCLE BROTHERS/DREKKA - hibernation 10" (MORC50, ltd to 50 copies!), and SOCCER COMMITTEE & MACHINEFABRIEK - drawn LP (MORC51, ltd to 200)
I KNOW, RIGHT?! I told you! Go get them NOW in the CATALOGUE!
Going to have more news soon, as we finish up the TWELVE-FOOT WIZE comp (finally... I know, I know... but with MORC doing so much great stuff, how could I NOT be inspired and a bit guilty for being so slow with our releases!)
That will be followed by BODY OF JOHN THE BAPTIST and the next couple records in out ART VINYL SERIES... sorry I can't say who the next two are yet, but I am so close to finalizing them and i don't want to jinx myself. Suffice to saym, they will be AMAZING!
There are a couple new reviews just in (Cindytalk and Verjaardag), but I have to wait for Wim to translate them, as they are in Dutch... will post them in the next couple days.
Hmmm... anything else right now... I am planning a DREKKA tour this spring (2009) of Europe... hope to have it coincide with at least one new CD release... VOLLMAR finally has his new album, 'Tell the Dirt', coming out on LP and iTUNES in spring, as well... the new ELEPHANT MICAH album on Third Uncle is so close to coming out that I think I can hear it wafting over the hills between here and Louisville... and ANNELIES' new full-length will finally be out soon on Type!
It's going to be a good spring!

Two weeks... another update. Is that a record?
Here at Bluesanct HQ it's all about CINDYTALK right now... nothing new, really... I spend much of my time listening to Cindytalk. But, two days ago marks the release of the new CINDYTALK - silver shoals of light 10"!
ORDER IT NOW in the CATALOGUE... you'll be glad you did! It won't be available in stores until mid-December at the earliest, IF there are still any left by then. So, I highly suggest picking one up now before they run out.
We will try to post a few reviews as they trickle in, as well as a couple photos of the record, soon.
Now that all the pre-orders are out the door and things are settling down bit, I've been working on some much needed html code tweaking around the site. Biggest change being the format of the CATALOGUE, making it more user-friendly and simple.
Next order of business is a mass email update about the new Cindytalk 10" and Drekka 3"CDR... then, finally finishing up the TWELVE FOOT-WIZÉ comp (see below for description)... then we FINALLY have something by NATHANAEL MARKHAM with his project BODY OF JOHN THE BAPTIST... a solo CD by ISAAC EDWARDS (one-half of the amazing groups ODAWAS and MORE ANIMALS OF THE ARCTIC)...
That's enough to keep us busy for a while, so we'll leave it at that.
I forgot to mention last update that we made a NEW LABEL SAMPLER! These CDRs contain over a dozen tracks from upcoming and past releases, and are FREE with any order. The new one contains a couple tracks by BODY OF JOHN THE BAPTIST, CAETHUA, VERJAARDAG and ever an EXCLUSIVE DEMO of a new DREKKA track, entitled "I will wait", off the new DREKKA album, entitled 'Tarwestraat', which will be finished some time in 2009... (I hope).

I received a few copies of the ULTRA-LIMITED 50 COPY VINYL release on MORC which contains a 'super-session' we recorded in Dec 2006... DREKKA, CIRCLE BROTHERS and KARINA ESP; bringing the drone! I will add it to the site once MORC has a release date set for it.

WOW, a year, huh?! It's been a year since the last news update. Hmm... seems like a pattern is forming here. Wasn't it a year since the previous news update?
Well, it's not because I haven't been doing stuff... it's just that I've been doing stuff. There are SO MANY episodes of Doctor Who, after all.. several hundred!
BUT, there is some exciting stuff coming along here at Bluesanct. And, if I can remember, I will try to update more often.
FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS: CINDYTALK
There is a pre-order page for the CINDYTALK - silver shoals of light 10". It begins shipping OCTOBER 12th... ltd to 500 copies... get it while you can, as we expect this one will go quickly. Also, it won't be available in stores for a few months yet, if at all... so, you snooze, you lose, bro.
After we finish that, we've got all kinds of other stuff in the works in various stages of completion. Finally going to finish the TWELVE FOOT-WIZÉ compilation (see below for description)... making a 300 run of CDs on the CAETHUA CDR we released... WHAT ABOUT DREKKA, you ask? Well, I've been sort of hibernating on that... which for me, still means playing shows sporadically and releasing a few EPs. See the DREKKA page in the CATALOGUE for all the new stuff available, including the VERJAARDAG collaboration between DREKKA and ANNELIES MONSERÉ.
I've also included a demo of a new DREKKA track, entitled "I will wait", off the new DREKKA album, entitled 'Tarwestraat', which will be finished some time in 2009... I hope.
MORC is about to issue a 50 COPY VINYL release of a 'super-session' we recorded in Dec 2006... DREKKA, CIRCLE BROTHERS and KARINA ESP; bringing the drone! More info on that when I receive my copies.
