JESSICA BAILIFF - DREKKA - RIVULETS

rivulets is centered on the tense, moving and often disturbing "underwater folk" songs of Nathan Amundson. His self-titled debut was recently released on Chair Kickers' Union, a label run by Alan Sparhawk of Low. Though LD Beghtol (Flare, Magnetic Fields), Mimi Parker (Low) and Alan Sparhawk (Low, Black-Eyed Snakes) all guest on the album, rivulets is the sole moniker and vision of Amundson, "a new member of the very limited group of people that are capable of channeling melancholia into sonic goodness." (Broken Face, Sweden)

"Residing in a hazy singer-songwriter space somewhere between Nick Drake and Red House Painters¹ Mark Kozelek, rivulets' eponymous debut is the work of one Nathan Amundson. Using voice and guitar... he's crafted a work of forlorn balladry and fragile-hearted beauty." - Andrew Carden, Mojo Magazine "He makes a wonderfully evocative melancholic sound. His voice, guitar and songs radiate a potent poignancy, that put him on a par with Tindersticks or Low at their most sorrowfully beautiful. This takes the listener to a twilit world of broken hearted mourning and loss, but it has you by the hand as you pass through the process" - George Parsons, Dream Magazine
