3. CAETHUA package sales!
4. THANK YOU and THE WAY OUT

1. INTRO

This is Mkl Drekka here.

Welcome to autumn... (why is it still hot here?)

There is some exciting (at least to me) news from DREKKA and perhaps to those TURN PALE fans out there. (see SECTION 2)

Also, below we have some sweet package deals, in our continuing effort to clear out space in the 'warehouse' (IE- the shelf below the stereo here in the office)

As always, these will be first come, first serve, and they will go FAST, so grab 'em while you can! (see SECTION 3)

We try to keep the newsletters brief... but for up-to-the-minute updates and fun stuff, be sure to follow the
BLUESANCT TUMBLR: bluesanct.tumblr.com

Okay... maybe I'll see you on the road in January... or any number of places in between.

Ciao.
Mkl.

2. DREKKA NEWS

Well, there is a few things going on with DREKKA at the moment. Here is a run-down...

DREKKA will be heading to Italy once again, in January 2012.

This will be the third year in a row touring Italy. The tour will begin on DEC 28/29 in Itri at the amazing Muviments Festival, and will also be the release show for a new DREKKA tape recorded LIVE IN ITRI last November.

DREKKA will be touring with CANID, a powerful electronic/a cappella performer from here in Bloomington... canid.bandcamp.com to hear CANID

DREKKA has added a new re-issue to the bandcamp site.

'Complicationing comp comp, Vol.0' was originally issued in a private edition of 10 copies, collecting compilation tracks and random material by Drekka from late 1999/early 2000. Even long-time fans should find new stuff on there, and this collection contains some of my all time favourite tracks I've ever done...

TAKE A LISTEN

DREKKA has a new live cassette out on CHEMICAL TAPES.

A sort of 'best of' the 2010 Matters of Tone tour, it collects tracks from various shows in Italy and Slovenia from last year. It is available now, via CHEMICAL TAPES and on the merch table at upcoming DREKKA shows.

SOUND SAMPLES

NORMAN RECORDS has this to say about it:
"The overall environment created is pretty creepy and unsettling at times, at points recalling some of Nurse With Wound's ambient explorations. There's a real something lurking in the shadows vibe but the darkness is sometimes punctured by lighter elements that shine through and emerge like bells and the angelic female vocal. It's still pretty dark though even recalling elements of Coil who have clearly been an influence..."

• EXAMINATIONS are coming soon.

Lastly, and of particular interest to TURN PALE fans, DREKKA (ie- ex-singer of TURN PALE), Martin Prowles (drummer of TURN PALE, DREAMERS OF THE GHETTO and EARLY DAY MINERS) and Scott Ferguson (KAM KAMA) have been working on new tracks for the band EXAMINATIONS... hypnotic post-punk new wave mixing older sounds ala Soft Cell and newer drones ala HTRK... coming soon to your headphones and venues.

3. CAETHUA package sales!

Presenting: the third in a series of attempts to clear out some space...

Every few months, we will be highlighting some rare items by Bluesanct artists that I have a few copies left of; to clear out some space... I also add several 'incentives' for further enticement.

This month's sales are all amazing! If I were you, I would go for the big package and get all of them... esp if you are in Europe; save SO MUCH on shipping costs!

Haven't heard CAETHUA? It is amazing stuff!

TAKE A LISTEN: 'Old Cat' / 'Daybreak' / 'The Long Afternoon'

This month's sales are:

A) CAETHUA - 'I may be gone for a long, long time...' LP:
CAETHUA's follow-up to her debut album on BLUESANCT, 'Village of the Damned', 'I may be gone...' is a "cold marriages of growing up in the snow covered cornfields of upstate New York, moldy nylon-stringed guitars, a hissing blend of flea market electronics, rusted pots and pans, field recordings of a doomed boat trip down the St. Lawrence River, birds in the ice covered trees, the groan of an overheating diesel engine, shortwave radio in the middle of nowhere." Swirled colored vinyl, released on Saxwand/Friends & Relatives.

SALE PACKAGE DEAL includes LP, a 7" and three CDs:

• CAETHUA - 'I may be gone for a long, long time...' LP

• CAETHUA - 'Village of the Damned' CD (Bluesanct)

• AND a copy of BODY OF JOHN THE BAPTIST - Apperceptionist CD (Bluesanct, 4AD bliss arrangments to beautiful acoustic melodies, BoJtB produce brief postcards of sound, sharing little moments with devastating beauty.)

• AND a copy of PANTALEIMON - Under the Water 7" (2007, Bluesanct)

• AND a 'BLUESANCT MIXTAPE CD' compilation feat eighteen tracks from various Bluesanct releases including CAETHUA, DREKKA, ANNELIES, RIVULETS, BODY OF JOHN THE BAPTIST, IDITAROD, VOLLMAR, ELEPHANT MICAH and more...

B) CAETHUA - 'The Pleasures of Manhood/Queenly Women Crowned and Uncrowned' CDR:
Self-released re-issue of two out-of-print cassettes released around the same time as 'I may be gone...'. Every bit as beautiful and haunting as her first two albums, in a DVD case with full-colour artwork and a fold-out poster. Self-released via Saxwand/Friends & Relatives.

SALE PACKAGE DEAL includes four CDs:

• CAETHUA - 'The Pleasures of Manhood' CDR

• CAETHUA - 'Village of the Damned' CD (Bluesanct)

C) ANCESTRAL DIET - 'V.I.T.R.I.O.L.' LP:
ANCESTRAL DIET is the darkest parts of CAETHUA brought to the fore. ANCESTRAL DIET is an anti-society sound retrospective... slaughterhouse sounds, graveyard groans and burning factories simmer along with early 90's industrial beats and hollow-eyed duets. Members are CAETHUA and Andy Neubauer. Released on Saxwand.

4. THANK YOU and THE WAY OUT

BLUESANCT is a tiny label run by me, Mkl Anderson (of Drekka/Turn Pale/Examinations/etc). It is part of the Day2 Alliance and has been releasing experimental sounds and disjointed folk musics since 1995... 15 years and counting!

Thanks for reading my newsletter.

You are receiving this because you are a friend, colleague, or have purchased something from Bluesanct in the past. Rest assured, I will never annoy you by sending lots of emails. Once a season, if that.

If you would rather not hear from me again, just let me know and I will remove you from our email list.

If you have any questions, help to offer, received this twice or have anything you want to say, write me at: figurehead [at] bluesanct [dot] com or search for Drekka on Facebook, and we can chat.

Until soon... be well.
